2 Day – Intro Glass Crafts Adventure

Learn all the basics of fused glass, we have many projects to choose from: bowls, panels, candle holders, jewellery and tiles….You can work with glass frit, enamels, glitter if thats your thing, stringers, noodles, confetti, bullseye, spectrum 96 and float glass
Try your hand at glass engraving then gilding by embellishing with gold or silver leaf, a craft you can continue at home with very little equipment achieving fabulous effects! This can be applied to lot of other materials too so no surface is safe!
Copper foiling – [stained glass] create your own coloured glass 3D OR 2D project, again something you can continue at home with a few tools
Bottles….bring along 3 or 4 glass bottles and we will show you how you can turn them into bowls, candle shades and cheese boards!
Deborah will guide you step by step and before you know it you will have a box of glass projects ready to show off to family and friends
A fun, interesting and relaxing glass workshop giving you a perfect introduction into several glass crafts. A bonus is our homemade farmhouse lunches, refreshments, vistas & friendly welcome

1 Day – Fused Glass Wall Panel

  • Create your own fused glass wall panel, 50 x 25cm in size. This can be split into 2 panels, 2 vessels or free standing pieces if you prefer.

Your tutor at The Silver Zebra Studio will guide you through the design and creation of your very own fused glass wall panel, we also have lots of easy templates you can work with too. Learn to cut glass, add colour, work with paints, glass stringers and add textures, bubbles and glitter if thats your thing. Ideal for complete beginners and intermediates with step by step tuition

You could work from a favourite holiday photograph perhaps, cartoon, botanical design, text, abstract or still life, feel free to bring along a few ideas. Please mention upon booking if you wish to work on a alternative size….past students have worked on beach huts, sealife, landscapes, abstracts, city skylines & animals but we would love to hear your ideas too

2 Day – Fused Glass Crash Course

  • A really immersive but fun course which will enable you to create several exciting projects whilst learning about the craft of fused glass

Day 1: Learn all the basics of fused glass including easy and safe glass cutting, work with coloured glass, frits, confetti, bubbles and stringers or noodles! Create small layered colour pebble projects, a beautiful tactile free standing birch tree panel then a bowl in a design of your choice. For those thinking of going into fused glass and buying a kiln we will have a section about kiln set up, hints & tips, materials, suppliers and glass. Enough information to get you started and interesting for those here just to enjoy the class. We work with bullseye glass, spectrum and float glass

Day 2:

Create a bubble effect tile or vessel 20 x 20cm then a 25 x 25cm embossed glass panel (kiln carving) you may split this into separate panels. Work with enamels, cut glass, stringers, confetti & glitters incorporating a embossed layered, sculpted design (kiln carving} leaving you with a professional result. We have lots of templates or we will assist you with your own design.

  • Your fused glass panel will incorporate everything you have learnt over the 2 day fused glass course at The Silver Zebra Studio.
  • Time allowing, you are free to create other projects or samples here!….often an exciting time as your free to just play
  • Handouts are available that cover slumping, sample kiln schedules, problem solving, hints and tips and advice on materials
  • A perfect class for anyone starting out or just interested in glass looking to produce their own beautiful pieces to show off

2 Day – Fused Glass masterclass – suitable for intermediates or the next step after attending our crash course

  • 10 – 4pm

  • £295. This workshop includes step by step tuition, materials, fixings, kiln schedules, handouts, refreshments & our farmhouse lunches

  • A fascinating 2 day fused glass class taking your fusing skills a step further experimenting with a plethora of materials & techniques with lots of hints & tips whilst producing professional results to show off at home. Suitable for anyone just looking to enjoy working with glass & for those wishing to take the skills home.

Elements, enamels & inclusions

You will produce a 25x25cm shaped vessel incorporating printing, abstract & painting techniques, bubbles, metallic elements & organic inclusions. You can also experiment with adding text adding another dimension to your work. A fun experimental & painterly approach to working in glass taking your results to the next level. We have easy to use templates or your welcome to work from your own ideas

Perspectives in Landscapes & Seascapes

Working from your own photographs or from our templates you will learn the process of applying colours, shading, layers, textures & accents to create depth & perspective. You can also experiment with applying fine outlines using Deborah’s own unique method. You will produce a 35 x 15cm landscape panel of which you can then mount onto your bespoke oak stand which will be provided

Mosaics & Dichroics in the garden

Working in Bullseye glass you will experiment with magical reflections, reactions & colours, utilising metallic elements & dichroics to create light reflective accents. You will produce 3 shaped garden stakes, eye catching projects to add colour & reflect light in your garden all year round.

Ground stakes are also provided. Glass size approx 12cms (shape choice is your own or work from templates )
